The Saga of the Third Floor Bathroom

Third floor bathroom from a closetWhen Anna first suggested that we needed a bathroom on the third floor of our 1895 home, it seemed like a great idea.  There was a closet big enough (after some removal of a partition or two) to easily fit a sink, toilet and shower with a bit of room left over.  What neither of us realized was that we were embarking on an almost two year ordeal.

Visit each segment below to see how the epic unfolds.

The Plan
We begin to select what we want in the new bath.

Toilet
This should be simple, right?

Inspections
Never did we suspect that it would take six inspections and three permits!
The walls go up and the floor come out. Blasting holes in the outside wall.
